Statistics and Data Science by FENStatS & SEIO @ the conferences in Lleida
The Spanish Society of Statistics and Operations Research (SEIO) will hold the XLI National Congress of Statistics and Operations Research, as well as the XV Conference on Public Statistics from June 10 to 13, 2025, in Lleida. More information is available on the conference website.
This meeting will see the replacement of a large part of the SEIO's direction: the current president, Begoña Vitoriano, will be replaced by the incoming president, María Dolores Martínez Miranda. In addition, a change in the by-laws of the society will be voted to include the term Data Science in its name.
FENStatS acts as a special protagonist with an invited session entitled "FENStatS-SEIO: Statistics and Data Science" moderated by María Dolores Martínez Miranda, incoming president of the SEIO. Participating in this session are Rosanna Verde (Società Italiana di Statistica, SIS), Perrine Lacroix (Societé Française de Statistique, SFdS), Illias Willems (Royal Statistical Society of Belgium), Isabel Maria Simöes Pereira (Sociedade Portuguesa de Estatística, SPE) and Pedro Delicado (SEIO).
At this congress, Lola Ugarte, president of FENStatS and a SEIO2024 medal awardee, will participate in a special SEIO 2024 medal session presenting an invited paper entitled "Disease Mapping: Empowering Public Health with Spatial Insights".
